Zelis Completes Deal That Expands Services


Healthcare payments and pricing company Zelis has completed the acquisition of Payer Compass, which provides solutions for pricing, managing and processing reimbursements and claims for healthcare companies, according to a press release.

This enables Zelis to expand its solutions for off-network healthcare services for customers.

“We are excited to complete the acquisition of Payer Compass and to join our organizations,” said Amanda Eisel, CEO of Zelis. “Zelis is committed to creating a better healthcare financial experience for everyone, and the powerful combination of our technology and teams is helping us achieve that goal.”

And Greg Everett, CEO of Payer Compass, said the company is “excited to join Zelis and expand our reach and service to healthcare payers and their members.”

“This is an opportunity to increase pricing rationality in healthcare.”

PYMNTS previously wrote about the Zelis acquisition, which was intended “to streamline the claims management process,” according to a press release.

Zelis and Payer Compass plan to use advanced technology and best-of-breed approaches to develop pricing solutions that work for customers as healthcare costs increase.

“Through our combined assets, we have the people, technology and combined energy to deliver further savings for our customers and continue to positively impact the rising costs and complexities of healthcare,” Eisel said at the time.

It also came after Zelis also acquired Sapphire Digital, a platform for provider selection, patient access, price transparency and digital consumer navigation for healthcare. The goal of this acquisition was to provide customers with ways to “harmonize the entire healthcare payment process through pricing, payment, and explanation of healthcare,” Eisel said at the time.

The Sapphire purchase was touted as a way to help Zelis streamline its business and integrate payments and communications with Sapphire’s consumer navigation tools.

Zelis also merged its payment systems with RedCard Systems in 2019, which helped create a healthcare optimization platform.
