Oscar De La Hoya’s NSFW Admission Following Canelo Alvarez’s Fight Disturbs the Internet


Canelo Alvarez faced Gennady Golovkin in a highly anticipated showdown on September 17, 2022. However, many fans felt the fight was a rather lackluster affair. In fact, boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya had a few words to say about it.

The structure of the struggle itself was of gigantic proportions. On May 24, 2022, it was announced that Alvarez would return to defend his undisputed super middleweight titles in a trilogy showdown against Golovkin. This came despite Alvarez expressing his desire to avenge his light heavyweight loss to Dmitry Bivol.

Alvarez faced Golovkin at the legendary T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. In that fight, he defended his WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring super middleweight titles.

It should be noted that the fight was one-sided for most rounds, with Alvarez dealing significant damage. Meanwhile, Golovkin tried to regain his pace in the final few laps. But he was unsuccessful in doing so. At the end of the twelve rounds, the judges scored 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113 in favor of Alvarez, making him the winner by decision.

Many fans felt the fight wasn’t as interesting as his previous fights. And De Loya Hoya, on the other hand, even mentioned that he fell asleep during the fight. That is, until his wife grabbed his butt.

While both fighters showed excellent performances. There’s no denying that the fight was mostly just a one-sided affair.

Fans were confused by Oscar De La Hoya’s statement

Boxing fans weren’t too happy with Oscar De La Hoya’s comments. In fact, many fans took to social media to share their thoughts.

Some fans were quick to point out that De La Hoya drove them nuts with his statement.

Meanwhile, user @Irvelazquez stated that De La Hoya only made such a statement because Alvarez left Golden Boy Promotions.

Similarly, user @LouieTheKid also agreed. The user mentioned that De La Hoya suddenly stopped being Alvarez’s fan after leaving Golden Boy Promotions.

However, user @nycjakee approached him to make his statement. Additionally, the user also referred to De La Hoya as an overrated boxer whose opinion didn’t matter.

Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin 3 had a spectacular preparation for the main event. So it was not surprising that the fight was a star-studded event featuring several notable names.

The NBA wasn’t far behind as Stephen Curry also featured in the audience. Curry and Alvarez, in particular, have been regular golf partners.
