Northern Ireland host Kosovo in Belfast on Saturday, who are still looking for their first Nations League win.
Ian Baraclough and his side would have counted on their chances when they were drawn in Group C3 alongside Greece, Cyprus and this weekend’s opponents, but things didn’t go to plan in June.
Narrow defeats to Greece and Kosovo have left them third in the table and in a relegation play-off with the League C spot at stake.
Baraclough has insisted his side will do everything they can to avoid that fate, but to do so they will likely need their first win in the history of the competition – having failed to collect three points in 14 attempts so far.
Goals from Shayne Lavery and Dan Ballard couldn’t help them fight their way back into the game at the Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri in June, but Saturday’s hosts will know they have the players to beat Kosovo. It’s all about finding the performance of the day and breaking your nations league hoodoo.

Our prognosis: Northern Ireland vs. Kosovo
Can Northern Ireland finally put an end to their Nations League woes and claim a win that could keep them in League C?
That’s the question ahead of Saturday’s game in Belfast and the pressure is on as their last game sees Greece, top of the table with four wins out of four.
Dion Charles has told Baraclough he will score goals if he starts and the manager could well give him an opportunity to deliver on that promise against Kosovo.
Northern Ireland have seen firsthand how dangerous the visitors can be, but the hosts’ side look the healthiest they have been in a long time. This could be her day.
Our prediction: Northern Ireland – Kosovo 2: 1 (17.2 at bet365)
