How to watch Maryland vs. Michigan: Game time, live stream, TV info

It’s time for the Michigan Wolverines to attend the conference as they host the Maryland Terrapins this week.

As we approach Week 4, only half of the conference remains undefeated as multiple competitions have been lost to other Power 5 opponents. One of the few left is Maryland, who beat a good SMU team at home in Week 3. Other victories against Charlotte and Buffalo see College Square jump thanks to the superb performance of star quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa.

Let’s take a deep dive into this matchup and some of the other top games of Week 4.

No. 4 Michigan Wolverines vs. Maryland Terrapins

  • TV: FOX
  • Electricity: Sling TV
  • Time: noon ET
  • Location: Ann Arbor, Mich.
  • Weather: 63 degrees, cloudy
  • DraftKings Odds: ME -16.5, O/U: 65.5, ML: ME -750, MARY +550
  • Best Bet (4-6): ME -16.5

This game shouldn’t be very close, but for some reason Vegas wants you to believe it will be. Only 57% of the money in this game goes to the Wolverines while 87% of the public favors the Wolverines. Getting into this under 17 game feels like a bargain. Other losses against the Big Ten powers in recent weeks could leave the betters feeling uncertain about the Wolverines’ chances on Saturday.

Maryland is a good football team, don’t get me wrong. Tagovailoa has been one of the best quarterbacks in FBS for the past two seasons, and he’s off to a hot start in 2022. He’s on track for another 3,500-yard season and is currently throwing over 77% of the time. But quarterback alone won’t be enough for this terps team to beat Michigan.

JJ McCarthy will have the opportunity to shed light on Maryland’s terrible defense. This season, the Terps have conceded nearly 273 passing yards and 392 total yards per game. Last week SMU rushed 520 yards and if it weren’t for three costly turnovers it probably would have won the game. The story of a 2-1 team in Maryland could be very different than the story that comes with 3-0.

The fact that Michigan is home and a very similar team on offense that beat the Terps 59-10 at College Park last season should be enough to tell you the spread is too low. And the same Terps team came up with much flashier numbers in early 2021, consistent with a 4-0 start. Then Iowa fell behind them by 51 in a 37-point win. Maryland would lose every top-25 matchup in 2021 by more than 30 points on average. I sense an eerily similar path in 2022, starting with this competition on Saturday.

#20 Florida Gators against No. 11 Tennessee volunteers

  • TV: ABC
  • Electricity: Sling TV
  • Time: 3:30 p.m
  • Location: Knoxville, Tennessee.
  • Weather: 83 degrees, sunny
  • DraftKings Odds: TEN -10.5, O/U: 62 ML: FLO +295, TENN -360
  • Best Bet (4-6): FLO +10.5

Two of the country’s most explosive quarterbacks will square off this weekend as Anthony Richardson and the Gators travel to Knoxville to renew their rivalry with Hendon Hooker and the Vols. The nation’s eyes will be on it as everyone wonders if Tennessee is a legitimate contender for the SEC this season.

My best guess – they are not. It feels like every year it’s either Florida or Tennessee, which gets a bunch of hype early in the season and then completely collapses once it hits conference play. Making the 10.5-point spread even wilder is that the Gators have won 16 of the last 17 meetings, with the only loss coming in 2016. Yes, Florida has won the last five in a row, so what’s up with the spread here?

Well, despite a 2-1 record, Florida has conceded more points and yards than they’ve gained this season. Aside from that, the Gators have also played against two top-25 teams and beat a very interesting Utah roster that was a top-10 team in Week 1. previous week seems fine.

The Volunteers narrowly defeated a No. 17 squad from Pittsburgh in Week 2, who lost their starting quarterback and leading wide receiver as of 2021. They still allowed more than 400 yards in offense that game. Hooker was incredible, throwing for 844 yards and six touchdowns against two of the worst teams in FBS, and this Pitt team is definitely not known for defense.

I think this game is a lot closer than I expected and if I can get Florida with the points I’ll definitely take it.

Wisconsin Badgers against #3 State of Ohio horse chestnuts

  • TV: ABC
  • Electricity: Sling TV
  • Time: 19:30 o’clock
  • Location: Columbus, Ohio
  • Weather: 69 degrees, partly cloudy
  • DraftKings Odds: OSU-18, O/U: 56.5 ML: WIS +675, OSU-975
  • Best Bet (4-6): Over 56.5

Another week, another game where I expect Ohio State to bulldoze their opponent. This Wisconsin Badgers team is not. Their offensive weaknesses were revealed as Washington State stacked the box and allowed Heisman hopeful Braelon Allen just 98 yards en route to a 17-14 win at Madison.

Graham Mertz would come to Madison and help the program go where it wasn’t before. He was the most anticipated quarterback to join the Badgers since Russell Wilson, but as his junior season begins in Wisconsin, his status is up in the air. He’s played well against bad teams, but he’s also shown that you can’t rely on him when the game in progress isn’t going as it should. Talk to most Badger fans and they expect to be blown away by the Buckeyes.

For Ohio State, this will be their first legitimate test against a strong running game in which the team struggled mightily in 2021. If Braelon Allen prevails over the Buckeyes, it could mean really good things for Michigan later in the year.

Offensively, CJ Stroud is challenged by a defense that has struggled against some poor offenses so far. Still, with the weapons at his disposal, he should have enough firepower to shoot at the points.

The 56.5 overall here just seems a little low to me. I’m guessing Allen is having a decent day to get a few touchdowns on the board. However, the Buckeyes should still comfortably win this game, even if they don’t get off to a great start. Either way, I expect them to walk away with a win, and maybe in a convincing way.
