EMSO has renewed the Three-Star level FIA Environmental Accreditation


The Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO) has successfully extended the three-star environmental accreditation from the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) for a further two years.

We are proud to have been awarded three-star FIA environmental accreditation for another two years. In the UAE we now have the National Motor Sport Authority and the F1 circuit (Yas Marina Circuit) both of which have been awarded FIA three star environmental accreditation, which is an excellent achievement in relation to the UAE’s objectives. EMSO will continue to strive to remain an environmentally friendly and sustainable organization,” said Khalid Bin Sulayem, President of Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO). One of the biggest environmental actions EMSO has taken in recent years was the Dubai International Baja 2021, the first FIA and FIM Bajas World Cup event to be run on solar power.

This accreditation is the highest accreditation in the FIA ​​​​environmental accreditation program, awarded to bodies, organizers and promoters of world championships, as well as to large teams and manufacturers, who demonstrate best practices in the implementation of the environmental management system throughout all their activities and continuous commitment to strive for improvement and Development of mechanisms and programs for environmental sustainability.

EMSO’s commitment is defined in the EMSO environmental management system. EMSO has increased its efforts to minimize waste, encourage recycling and the use of recycled materials, and use resources more efficiently to reduce consumption at events such as the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, FIA and FIM Cross-Country World Rally Championship lower and Dubai International Baja, the FIA ​​and FIM Bajas World Cup.

For the largest motorsport events, EMSO provides officials and staff with reusable water bottles, saving over 3,500 kg of plastic bottles annually.

From November 2022, 700 F1 officers will be provided with reusable cutlery.
