A Donegal man is leading a campaign to help people manage their finances much more easily, also leading them into the new age of digital personal finance.
Sean McNulty is the founder and CEO of the financial advisory firm Reconsider Money Ltd.
A native of Letterkenny, Sean has worked in financial services for 15 years and is now focused on helping people understand money in a different way.
Sean is also the newest columnist for Donegal Daily. He will be writing a special weekly article on money matters and how we can get the most out of what we earn.
Sean has a simple mission; Make quality financial advice easy, accessible to all and free! Look at the world we are in today, with rising inflation and rising costs. and fears of a recession hanging over our heads; Money management is more important than ever.
Therefore, quality, personal advice is very important to people and they should be able to access that advice at all times, not when a broker’s office is open between 9 and 5. So, Rethink Money not only offers a financial advice service, but also a technology and brand that allows people to have full control over their money and be sure that their money is working hard for them at all times.
Sean’s passion for building this business sprang from what he calls “gaping holes” in the financial advisory space.
He says: “First of all, we are not taught about personal finance in school, so we go into our careers ill-prepared. Second, brokerage practices are the same as they were forty years ago. Life is very different today and we should have a solution that better suits our digital lifestyle. Third, and perhaps most controversial, the brokerage market was built entirely on people who didn’t understand how money works.
“Brokers actually invented themselves as middlemen to make financial products clearer for consumers. As you know, when an intermediary is involved in a transaction, it is the consumer who bears the additional cost. In the information age we live in, that model no longer works and people now want to know exactly what they are getting for their money and what the cost breakdown is.”
rethinking money will 1) make easy-to-understand money, 2) offer both a fully digital and face-to-face advisory service, and 3) offer all protection and investment guidelines at cheaper prices than any other broker/adviser in Ireland.
Not only does the company handle all the big stuff like mortgages and pensions, but they also provide budgeting tips and money-saving advice. you want to rethinking money to be the only place people turn to to manage their financial affairs. Based out of its hometown of Donegal, the company is already expanding across Ireland and will launch a major marketing campaign in just two months with the launch of its own software.
rethinking money will not only help people with new guidelines.
Sean continued, “We’re confident that we can examine people’s existing policies and find better value for them. There is no charge for chatting with us, nor any obligation to do anything. Everything we promise is clear and best advice. Even if we need to point you in a different direction, we’ll make sure you’re fully prepared.”
The company, which is active on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok, publishes daily videos and posts for its followers and also launches a weekly live session on Facebook on Wednesday to discuss money-related hot topics.
Sean encourages readers to book financial reports by emailing [email protected] or direct on her website www.rethinkmoney.ie. Readers are also encouraged to join any of their social channels for great content, insights and tips.
Look out for Sean’s first titled column tomorrow “Dealing with today’s rising costs and inflation.”
